About the role:
As the Senior HR Compliance Manager, you will report to the head of HR and you will play a key role in ensuring the HR processes are aligned with local regulations, while maintaining flexibility for future business growth. Your role will require an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity and a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR compliance strategies across Singapore, with plans to expand into Malaysia and Dubai.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, including employment contracts, employee rights, benefits, and termination processes.
- Work closely with HR and Legal teams to advise on risk mitigation, including identifying and addressing potential compliance risks.
- Conduct regular audits to monitor compliance and ensure the company is meeting all regulatory requirements.
- Act as the go-to expert for all HR compliance matters, providing guidance to leadership, managers, and employees.
- Lead training and workshops on compliance best practices for HR staff and company leaders to ensure awareness and adherence to policies.
- Develop a dynamic, adaptable framework for HR compliance as the company expands into new regions.
- Get hands-on with the implementation of HR policies, reviewing and improving existing processes where necessary to streamline compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within HR compliance to keep up with industry trends, ensuring the company remains innovative while adhering to local regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in HR compliance, preferably within a startup or fast-growing company environment.
- Proven experience managing HR compliance in Singapore, with the ability to extend that expertise to Malaysia and Dubai.
- Solid knowledge of local labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices within the APAC region, with a focus on Singapore.
- Hands-on, street-smart approach to problem-solving with the ability to get your hands dirty and implement solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with leaders, managers, and employees across various levels.
- Creative thinker who can develop innovative compliance strategies and make practical, business-friendly decisions.
- Ambitious and motivated to grow within a company, with a strong desire to contribute to its long-term success.
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
